This set contains full team cards for all 12 clubs in the second-level league in England and France, with each team receiving separate home and away team ratings, as well as individual try scorers and goal kicker ranges. There are also defensive modifiers for Cup matches involving First League and Second League teams. To play the Promotion/Relegation Qualifiers, you will require the 2017 English League set as well.

Hull KR finished top in the regular season and then returned to the top flight at the first attempt through the Promotion/Relegation Qualifiers with five wins, after losing the last chance playoff match a year before. London, Featherstone and Halifax were the other three to qualify, but none made it further.

Meanwhile, Toulouse finished fifth, missing out by a point from getting in the qualifiers, and instead won the Shield, defeating Sheffield in that final. Oldham and Bradford - after being deducted 12 points for entering administration before the season - were relegated to the Third League.
