All fourteen teams from the top level of provincial competition in New Zealand are included, with separate team ratings for home and away matches, along with overall try-scorers lists and individual goal kicker ratings. This set also uses two sets of control charts - one for home-and-away matches, and one for matches played at a neutral venue.
 
Tasman became champions for the very first time as they completed an unbeaten season of 10 wins out of 10 in the regular season and after defeating defending champions Auckland in the semi-final finished it off with a 31-14 win over Wellington in the final which confirmed that first provincial title. Canterbury took over possession of the Challenge Shield with a 35-25 win at Otago before a winning try right at the end of the match saw them hold onto the Shield in the final challenge of the year against North Harbour.
