This set contains all 24 countries that competed in the competition held in Poland and Slovenia, with all teams including team cards and team listed ratings, as well as scoring cards (maximum 13 players listed).

Two-time defending champions and co-hosts Poland again made the final - their third in a row and fourth in five tournaments, meeting Italy, who made the final for the first time since their last title in 1998 (the third in a row). Poland had required five sets to see off Brazil in a repeat of the previous two finals - which also made sure of the worst finish for the Brazilians since 1998, whilst fellow co-hosts Slovenia had been seen off by Italy in straight sets.

Poland took the first set 25-22, but Italy would make sure of an end to their reign by taking the next three 25-21, 25-18, 25-20 to become world champions for the fourth time. Brazil would claim third place with a 3-1 win in the third place playoff over the Slovenians.
