This set contains full home and away team ratings and scoring cards for all 18 clubs that competed in this season.
Note: This season is the second season to be played in 2022 following the league being moved from summer to early autumn, to winter to spring. If the earlier season is produced for the game, it will be listed accordingly.
The women's league's rapid expansion was finally completed, with all 18 men's clubs now fielding women's teams too in the national competition. The four new teams mostly struggled with Sydney failing to record a single win in ten matches, Port Adelaide just a win and a draw to finish 17th, and Hawthorn two places above them. Essendon were most competitive, winning four times and having a points percentage just shy of equality, they came tenth.
At the top of the home-and-away ladder, Brisbane and Melbourne battled for the minor premiership, with both losing once, and being split by just a single point (0.3 percentage points), as Brisbane claimed their second top spot in history.
But after both teams made it through to the Grand Final, lightning struck twice as like the first time back in the inaugural season in 2017, the Queenslanders failed to bring home the premiership, as Melbourne snatched their first-ever in a tight and low scoring game by only four points.
