Qatar continued their dominance with their sixth straight title, beating Japan - in their first final since 2004 - 30-24 in the final. Qatar's only non-win was against Japan in a 28-28 draw in the second group stage, but they led both their semi against Kuwait and then final by six goals at half-time on the way to comfortable wins and the championship.
 
Hosts Bahrain - who lost four of the previous five finals to Qatar - beat Kuwait 26-17 in the third place playoff, with both teams qualifying to the 2025 World Championship. As New Zealand failed to finish in the top five, after losing all three matches in the opening group round, that place for Oceania will become a wildcard choice.
