This set contains the top 73 men and 76 women who were eligible to receive cards, from the respective World Cup standings, with one man included in that number for a top ten finish in an Olympic race. Each biathlete has two cards - one for time trial races, and one for head-to-head races.

There were again double maiden champions - and both for France - with Eric Perrot winning the men's overall World Cup title, and Lou Jeanmonnot winning the women's title.

Both World Cup winners had to settle solely for double relay gold at the Olympics in Milan-Cortina, as France's women also took golds individually through Julia Simon in the Individual and Oceane Michelon in the Mass Start, with Quentin Fillon Maillet adding another French gold in the men's Sprint.

Norway also took three individual golds through Johan-Olav Botn in the men's Individual and Johannes Dale-Skjevdal in the Mass Start, while the women's Sprint was won by Maren Kirkeeide.
