This set contains all 12 men's and 12 women's teams that played in the main round tournament held in Singapore.
 
Australia's men retained their title, although did lose in the pool stage to Japan, but then with Japan eliminated by China in the semi-final, they took their fifth win in six, 21-19. It was still China's best finish. New Zealand even pushed Japan out of the medals, 21-18 in the match for third place.
 
Australia's women also claimed a fifth title overall, and third straight, this time defeating Japan in their first-ever final, 21-17, although unlike the men, went 5-0 in the tournament. China denied the Philippines their first-ever medal, 21-11 in the bronze medal game.
