The set contains all 32 teams from the first expanded Men's World Championship, held in Egypt, with each team receiving both full and basic team cards along with goal scorers lists and Quick Score Module ratings. This set also contains the new split defensive ratings for shots in normal Attack vs Defence formations and for 1 vs 1 with the opposition's goalkeeper, as well as the optional attacking adjustments to take into account the relative strength of each opponent they played in the tournament.
 
The hosts almost pulled off the shock of the tournament as after making it into the quarter-finals as one of only two non-European countries, alongside Qatar, to do so, they came close to defeating defending champions Denmark, taking them all the way to penalty throws after a 35-35 draw following the two pairs of overtime periods. The Danes would win the shootout and after seeing off Spain in the semi-final, would face Nordic rivals Sweden in the final, which although the Swedes kept close, going into the break level, the defending champions pulled out a small lead in the middle of the second half and hung on to win 26-24. Despite this it was the best finish for Sweden in 20 years. Spain would claim the bronze medal with a comfortable 35-29 win over France in the third place play-off.
